First 5G Modem Unveiled By Qualcomm: Plans for Gigabit LTE networks: Qualcomm working to improve & update their processors & is now a day busy in launching their Mid-range Snapdragon processors. Meanwhile, it feels good to tell you all about the newly unveiled First ever 5G X50 chip by Qualcomm technologies. Qualcomm is also working to provide the consumers with faster data speeds So, it has partnered with Netgear, Ericsson & Australian carrier Telstra in order to deliver Fast-Gigabit network by the year end.
Details have been also updated for the X16 LTE modem that will be powering the next generation of devices. The X16 modem is now appearing for the first time as a commercial technology. The X16 LTE modem builds for smartphones will be found inside Snapdragon, 820/821 mobile processors. This time in X16 LTE we will be having improved 256-QAD i.e. Quadcore amplitude modulation & 4 bands 20 MHz carrier aggregation tech will support for up to 1Gbps of theoretical download speed. The upload speeds of 150 Mbps will be achievable through the 64-QAM 2 band carrier aggregation design.
However, initial tests of X16 modem showed an average downlink speed of 112 Mbps – 307 Mbps. The areas where optimal strength was received showed up to 533 Mbps of high speeds too. As per Qualcomm the X16 LTE modem will be featuring in the next generation 2017 flagship mobile SoC & currently as per sources it may be known as Snapdragon 830. But whenever it may come definitely it is going to be providing a amazingly fast network which will fulfill the growing demands for 4K video & Virtual reality experiences.
Netgear has also recently unveiled its new Mobile router MR1100 which will be hitting Gigabit of speeds through the X16’s 3x carrier aggregation & 4 x 4 MIMO techs. And this hotspot network will coordinately work with Telstra’s coming network which is under development process with Ericsson, ready to roll out by the end this year.
With Qualcomm unveiling the commercial 5G modem solution i.e. Snapdragon X50, the company is also planning for an ultra-fast 5G network also as per seeing day-to-day requirements.
”The Snapdragon X50 5G modem heralds the arrival of 5G as operators and OEMs reach the cellular network and device testing phase,” – Cristiano Amon, executive vice president, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc
The new 5G modem is designed with multi-mode 4G/5G mobile broadband technology which can be paired with the Snapdragon processors that feature a Gigabit LTE modem like the new X16 for excellent speeds. As per Qualcomm, the X50 offers up to 800 MHz of bandwidth, which is capable of producing theoretical download speeds of 5 Gbps.
The Snapdragon X50 5G platform will be including the modem, the SDR051 mm-Wave transceivers & the supporting PMX50 (power management chip) & before coming to the market it will be offered as package platform for OEM’s.
