Windows Phone Era Has Passed, What Will The User Opt Now? If Not Windows, Then What? The Windows phone thing is almost at the verge of becoming a past now, so every present windows phone user is looking for an option & most precisely I would say, a perfect option for a smoother transition. Out of the 3 main OS developers i.e Android, iOS & Windows, there will only two left out very soon & within these two, users will have to look after for the perfect one that they should opt in future. It is going to become a two horse race now, although becoming much easier to choose from but too limiting at the same time. User’s like me were expecting much from Microsoft regarding the Windows phone future as they were steadily building promises for the Unified Windows Platform. But unfortunately that didn’t happen and the users are left out with only those options that they had never chosen as their perfect companion.

What Is The User Going To Opt As An Alternate Over The Windows Phone? iOS or Android?

However, Microsoft has always been working hard on bringing up a cross-platform that could embrace both iOS & Android. As a result of such projects now Microsoft Edge can also be used on both iOS & Android with the facility to “Continue on PC” for Windows PC users. But still, iOS will not be on the top of the list when talked about integrating with the Microsoft ecosystem & the Windows 10 OS, unlike Android.

iOS or Android? Which One To Opt After A Dying Windows Phone?

Users can get more personalized options like receiving texts from their Android phones directly to their Windows 10 PCs while iOS has not yet integrated any such feature for Windows 10 PC users. Android is allowing its users to make even the non-Google apps, for instance, Bing, Cortana & Edge as their default apps while iOS is still lagging behind.

Windows Phone Era Is A Past Now

Although Microsoft has yet not shown any signs of slowing its commitment to making Android a home for Microsoft’s services; nor of making Microsoft’s ecosystem a home for Android. But it is not the same when talked about Microsoft’s commitment to iOS, it will never integrate as deeply into Microsoft’s ecosystem as Android. This might be another reason as to why the Windows phone users will need their Microsoft experience to pass on to iPhone(iOS).

The Discussion: From Windows Phone To iOS or Android?

To add more I would have listed a long set of features that are lacked or being an addition to different OS but concludingly will try to get straightly with the bold ones as of now. With Android, the user will always have an option to expand the storage while the iPhone user wouldn’t be getting any. For switching to an iPhone, Windows user will have to look out for some extra budget as they are too expensive while there are many flagship Android phones with a wide variety to choose from at much lower prices.

Are You Ready To Switch Over To iOS?

As per our above discussions, everything looks like going in favor of Android but wait here’s some big lackings to the Android too, no one is perfect you know. According to a Threat Intelligence Report, Android is found to be an acting magnet for malware and viruses, as over two-thirds of all infected devices in the past year were running Android. Over 75% of the Android apps were found to be secretly tracking user data without proper permissions.

Android Is Making The Choice Tougher: For Windows Phone Users

Although Google is set to implement some new standards for providing a warning to such illegal activities & according to them they are all prepared to bring its enforcement by the first quarter of 2018. But that doesn’t seem to be enough for such a big privacy leak & infringement(if found any).

  1. Actually, we will be opting to wait for the Windows Andromeda Mobile Device; which is a mobile device that can fold to the size of a phone yet runs full version Windows 10. This means all the apps on my laptop or desktop will also run on my mobile device (phone)! It also will be able to make/receive outbound and inbound calls as well as receive SMS. you should check it out… it is coming.

So yea… Windows phone users are opting into waiting for its release 😀

    • Good to hear from you dear, but still in the mean time while Windows Andromeda Mobile Device arrives users will definitely go for an early option……. Hope the Andromeda arrives soon….

  2. The biggest issue for me is the lack of a natural inheritor for WinPhone hardware. The Pixel 2 XL was looking good despite missing an SD card expansion until I saw two of them purchased by work colleagues. The color shift on the screen is really disturbing.
I’m not seeing the combination of good camera, expandable storage, wireless charging, Gorilla Glass, camera hardware button and headphone jack that came standard with my 950XL.

    • Yes, Windows was really good at combining & making available the essential features into a single Mobile Handset…… Neverthless, You always have a second option to opt for.
