MacBook Pro 2016 Leaks shows that Apple is reportedly to introduce a major update to its MacBook Pro lineup sometime during the fourth quarter of this year. The update is said to bring a thinner design and a new OLED touch bar above the keyboard. Now, a set of spy shots claim to show the chassis of the refreshed MacBook Pro and where the reported OLED touch bar will be located.

MacBook Pro 2016 Leaks Images:

  • The images, obtained by Cult of Mac, show a keyboard chassis with a missing top row of function keys, which is where last week’s report claimed the OLED touch bar would be located. These images suggest that the screen won’t extend up towards the hinge-like some expected and will simply replace the existing row of function keys.

  • Furthermore, these images show four USB-C ports and a headphone jack as the only physical connections on the MacBook Pro. This suggests that the SD card slot and MagSafe connector will be dropped this year in favor of USB-C.

  • Last week’s report claimed that the refreshed MacBook Pro models will be thinner and lighter than the current models. It’s hard to tell from these images just how thin they are, but they do appear to be at least a tad thinner than the current models.
  • Finally, it appears that Apple has relocated the speakers to either side of the keyboard, even on the 13-inch model. Currently, the 15-inch MacBook Pro features speakers on the sides of the keyboard while the 13-inch model has speakers located on the back of the keyboard. This change would make for a more forward-facing sound experience on the thirteen-inch model while also making room for the OLED touchpad.
  • Obviously these photos should be taken with a dose of skepticism. They are allegedly from an “anonymous source who claims to work for one of Apple’s manufacturing partners in China,” so it’s unclear how legitimate they are. On the other hand, they do provide a look at how the 2016 MacBook Pro could potentially look.

Last week, a report detailed the changes we can expect, while Intel and Samsung have both announced next-gen hardware that could potentially find its way to Apple’s “Pro” laptop. Apple is said to be set to introduce a dramatically overhauled MacBook Pro lineup during the fourth quarter of this year.

It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance”
between superb usability and visual appeal. I must say you’ve done a amazing job
with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely fast for me
    on Internet explorer. Excellent Blog!
