Report Suggesting Apple Exploring Two-Step Touch ID And Facial Recognition For Upcoming iPhone 8: Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8 is expecting to be most technologically advance smartphone, Apple is going to introduce so many new things to it such as new body design, improved screen fingerprint sensor instead of home button and much more.

Now a new research report is released by KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in which some new technologies that may be present in upcoming iPhone 8, are described. It includes new Touch ID technology and as per Kuo’s report, a new design is required so that flexible OLED display with 3D Touch capability which is expecting to present in iPhone 8, get better structural support.

Apple Rumor To Have Extra Bit Of Protection In iPhone 8

Apple currently uses FPCB sensor but it may use film sensor which offers higher sensitivity so that better 3D Touch experience could be provided to the users. Under the film sensor, a metal structural support will be provided to protect the flexible OLED panel from any kind of deformation from touch operation pressure.

As Apple is going to make bezel-less iPhone, to give perfect touch to its full-screen design, Apple is developing a new Touch ID technology for it, reported by Kuo.

The “under glass” design of fingerprint recognition is not compatible with the requirements of full-screen design, so an “under panel” placement is necessary according to Kuo. So there is the need that Apple adopts an optical type system rather current capacitive-type.

Kuo also believes that in order to improve the security, the fingerprint recognition feature will be replaced by the facial recognition system.

Apple has applied for bio-recognition patents which indicate that it may use facial recognition technology than iris recognition technology. However, some notable technical challenges are there for facial recognition technology which includes algorithm, hardware design and built out of a database for verification and authentication.

So, when the facial recognition would completely replace the fingerprint system, then security will be improved. We can say before that combination of two steps biorecognition could prove a good solution to improve the security.

Kuo also predicted earlier about the upcoming iPhone or it’s not wrong to say Apple’s 10th anniversary iPhone which is rumored to have radicle redesign with an edge to edge display without a physical home button, a glass body, with wireless charging and improved water resistance.
