ASUS At IFA 2017 Announces ZenBook 13, Flip 14 & 15, Mixed Reality Headset & ROG Chimera: Asus was found at its best at the IFA 2017 in Berlin as it unveiled a host of newer products during the press conference which includes a bunch of Laptops & Mixed Reality Headset. Although many of the announced updates for its Laptops was a motto of upgradations for the current models to Intel’s new 8th generation Core i-Series i.e Kaby Lake R processors. Along with that entirely new ZenBook Flip S 14 (UX461) that is claimed to be the World’s thinnest 2-in-1 Laptop having discrete graphics & ZenBook Flip S 15 (UX561) was also Announced. Asus also introduced us with its latest debuted contribution to the Windows Mixed Reality headset market & lastly the much awaited ROG Chimera was also included in the list.
ASUS Steals The Show At IFA 2017 By Announcing A Bunch Of Laptops & Mixed Reality Headset:
Asus has almost announced multi segmented products at the IFA 2017 including series of laptops that include gaming ones too & the Mixed reality headset. So we are here to let you know the brief introduction & features for all of them one by one:
Asus ROG Chimera Laptop:
ROG Chimera & ROG Strix XG35VQ 35 inches Curved monitor are totally a newer additions to the family & as Asus claims, the Chimera is World’s first gaming laptop which is having an Ultra-responsive 144Hz wide viewing display & a 7ms gray-to-gray response time, thus delivering smooth & seamless visuals that have been never seen before in any laptop. And the unlocked Intel Core-i7-7820HK processor & the GeForce GTX 1080 graphics make it happen naturally for such a screen.
Supporting the Xbox Play Anywhere & the Xbox Wireless, it doesn’t need adapters to hook up Xbox accessories to the PC. Asus also announced the ROG Strix XG35VQ, a curved 35-inch UWQHD (3,440×1,440 pixel) curved monitor with a 100Hz refresh rate, Adaptive-Sync technology and a 21:9 aspect ratio, which will not let you wonder about playing games on to 17 inches of the laptop display. The display also has Aura Sync lighting that can be synced with in-game audio as well as with Aura Sync-enabled PC components, keyboards and mouse but still, the price & availability is yet to be revealed.
Asus Mixed Reality Headset:
Asus thus joined the other brands like Acer, Dell & Lenovo in the contest of bringing up its Windows Mixed Reality Headset alive to the market. With its debuting contribution to the Windows Mixed Reality headset market, Asus has brought up its own Mixed Reality Headset which is designed very light weighted for about 400g & it is also designed in order to balance the pressure off the nose & cheeks for a comfort fit-usage.
The headset also includes the Inside-Out space sensing technology tracking with two built-in front-facing tracking cameras with six-degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) position tracking that basically means the user will not need to set up any wall or desk sensors before starting to use it. The headset along with the controllers will be costing €449 in Europe, while the US pricing & availability is yet to be announced.
Asus ZenBook 13 (UX331):
The ZenBook 13 (UX331) announced in Berlin is the following up series to the earlier version i.e UX330 & now it comes with the lighter weight of 1.12 Kg which is slightly thicker now i.e of 13.9 mm. This ZenBook is an UltraBook that will be gaining the Nvidia’s GeForce MX 150 graphics, featuring a 4K display with very narrow bezels customized with an 8th Generation Intel chipset. Although the company has not yet revealed the availability & price for the same at present but is expected to get into the markets sooner.
Asus ZenBook Flip 14 and 15:
The ZenBook Flip 14 (UX461) inch model is claimed by the company to be world’s thinnest two-in-one laptop with discrete graphics. It is just 13.9 mm thick & weighs 1.4 Kg only, is equipped with 8th generation Core-i7 quad-core CPU, a 16GB of memory, a Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics and a 512GB PCIe x4 solid-state drive. It also features a narrow bezel display like the Asus ZenBook 13 & claiming provides up to 13 hours of battery backup.
While the ZenBook Flip 15 (UX561) is one step forward than the 14-inch model as it includes a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU with up to a 2TB HDD and 512GB SSD. However, both the ZenBook Flip 14 & 15 have NanoEdge displays which mean the frame around the display is very small. At one end the Flip 14 is available with Full HD touchscreen for about €799 while at the other end the Flip 15 will have a choice between the Full HD or 4K UHD resolutions for a starting price of €899. But still, the company has not hinted anything for the release date of both the models.
