Dell @CES 2018 Refreshes Its Latitude 5000 & 7000 Series Along With A New Portable SSD: Another upgraded Laptop line-up is here out at CES 2018 but this time its by Dell. They refreshed both the series of laptops  with the very latest Intel’s 8th Gen Core i7 processors & upgraded their Latitude 5000 & Latitude 7000 series that now includes the Dell Latitude 7490, 7390, 7390 2-in-1, 7290, 5590, 5490, 5290 & lastly the Latitude 5290 2-in-1. And this is not the end of Dell at CES 2018, they also showcased their very new Dell SD1-T0500 & SD1-T1000 SSDs that are claimed to be the World’s most compact Thunderbolt 3 storage devices till date. These two SSDs come with different storage options i.e as the name resembles the SD1-T0500 has 500GB of storage capacity while the SD1-T1000 has 1TB of storage capacity.

Dell Introduces Refreshed Series Of Laptops & New SSDs @CES 2018:

Among the Dell 5000 series, the Latitude 5290 features a 12.5 inches of HD Anti-Glare WLED display having a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, while at the back it has carbon fibre LCD. The 5490 consists of a 14 inches of HD WLED, 14 inches FHD WVA & a 14 inches FHD WVA touch display options, whereas the Latitude 5590 sports a 15.6 inches of HD WLED, a 15.6 inches FHD WVA & a 15.6 inches FHD WVA touch display options. Although these all models under the 5000 series may be sporting disfferent dsplay types but all of them have two memory slots supporting DDR4 at 24000MHZ frequency with storage options including up to 1TB HD or a hybrid drive as well as M 2 SSD & 1 TB PCIe/NVMe drive. Most importantly these upgraded 5000 series notebook family supports LTE-A, 802.11ac dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, two USB Type-C ports & a USB 3.1 port also while having an Nvidia GeForce MX130 & Intel HD/UHD 620 graphics options with them.

On the other hand in the Latitude 7000 series, the Dell 7290 line features a 12.5 inches HD WLED display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, the 7390 sports a 13.3 inches FHD WVA Anti-Glare display with 16:9 aspect ratio & resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels while also having an optional touchscreen integration with is a Magnesium Alloy LCD back & narrow border carbon-fibre reinforced polymer LCD back options. Whole of the Latitude 7000 series has two memory slot options, supporting up to 32GB RAM & premium storage options as two M.2 options of 512GB SATA or 128GB PCIe, 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD & 512GB PCIe NVMe drives. They also include Intel HD & UHD 620 graphics options with them.

Other specifications for the Latitude 7000 series includes its OS that comes with a Built-in 64 bit Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Home & Ubuntu 16.04 LTS options to choose from while at the connectivity end these notebooks have LTE-A, 802.11ac dula band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, USB Type-C, HDMI 1.4, an optional Thunderbolt 3, a 3.5 mm audio jack & two USB 3.1(Gen 1). The battery part of this series looks great as they have options that include 42WHr Prismatic, 60 WHr Polymer & 60 WHr Long Life Polymer (each of them with Dell’s Express Charge Technology) & hence they are claimed to be lasting for a whle day upon a single charge. Latitude 7000 Series Laptops Comes With Dell’s Express Charge Technology

Dell has transformed these laptop series in order to easily convert from a laptop to a tablet, Dell has designed the Latitude 5290 2-in-1 and Latitude 7390 2-in-1 models with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The Latitude 5290 2-in-1 sports a 12.3-inch FHD WVA touchscreen panel with an anti-reflective and anti-smudge coating, whereas the Latitude 7390 comes with a 13.3-inch FHD touchscreen panel. Both the model come with an optional Active Pen support that uses Wacom technology to enable “natural writing” experience. There is also a single pointing backlit keyboard with dual-button Microsoft Precision touchpad and 1.65mm key travel. Besides, the 2-in-1 Dell Latitude models have an array of sensors, including Gyroscope, eCompass/Magnetometer, and Accelerometer too.

Both SD1-T0500 & SD1-T1000 Supports Transfer Speeds Of 2650MBps

The SSDs introduced by Dell include the SD1-T0500 that has 500GB of storage & the other one i.e SD1-T1000 that has 1TB of storage capacity. Although both these SSD models have an identical design with a minimal thickness of 16mm (whole dimension 98.8mmx19mmx48mm) & in contrary offering transfer speeds of up to 2650 MBps. They also sport a Thunderbolt 3 port which also works with devices that support USB Type-C. Priced at $439 the Dell SD1-T0500 cost approximately the half to that of SD1-T1000 that costs $799 & they will be up for sale by starting of February this Year. While talking about the upgraded laptop series, the Dell Latitude 5490 and Latitude 5590 come with a price tag of $779 and the Dell Latitude 5290 is priced at $829. On the other hand, the Dell Latitude 7390 is priced at $1,149, while the Latitude 7290 and Latitude 7490 are at $1,049. While they all are already available in the US, availability and prices in India are yet to be confirmed by the company.
