iPhone 8 Design Issue
iPhone 8 Design Issue

Apple iPhone 8 still not able to get its final state as company is trying hard to achieve success to hide TouchID inside touch panel but it seems really hard for them, while other brands already achieve this design pattern, so Apple has to gear up fast to release iPhone 8 in time as million of people are already waiting to see 10th Anniversary iPhone.

Apple has testing many design pattern according to reports as they tried TouchID on the backside of iPhone but this concept seems too old for iPhone as many Android smartphones already follow this design pattern. The main reason for Apple for delay in design is new full display on the front side which causes Apple iconic home button to suffer its position.

According to recent reports, Apple’s team of engineers and designers working on the iPhone are operating with a “sense of panic in the air” as launch date of device is coming near day by day which is later this year and they could not able to finalize the design.

According to reports Apple is facing some software problem plaguing the iPhone 8. As this problem could lead to iPhone shortage production or shift in release date if the issue not resolved. Apple may also seize some feature of iPhone 8 during the launch.

Apple is said to be facing major issues with wireless charging, which this report again pegs to be of the inductive type, all these means that Apple may ship iPhone 8 without wireless charging with Apple enabling it as part of a future software update.

According to previous leaks like TouchID replacement new 3D Facial Recognition system is also facing some issue while pairing with iOS. As this issue is due to the software part not hardware to Apple bring this feature in future software update if this issue will not resolve in time.

TouchID of iPhone is a major concern for Apple as they are developing since the beginning of project iPhone 8 or iPhone X or iPhone Pro. As it seems pretty hard for Apple to embed TouchID sensor inside the OLED display.

Apple has response fast to these issue as launch date of iPhone 8 is coming near and around 2-3 months are left for Apple to decide what’s new on next iPhone while all cut off feature for iPhone 8 may arrive in iOS 11.1 or later version so let’s hope Apple could bring better from iPhone as we are expecting until then GoodBye.

After building future Apple Campus, Apple is ready for their future Architecture design for their new Data centre in Denmark. Apple announces this plan to open a second data centre in 2019. Apple is building this data centre in two phase, first unit will open later this year in Viborg while second unit will build in Aabenraa, which is expected to be online in 2019.

Apple is continuing their promise to give back to earth as whole data centre will run on 100% renewable energy which means zero emission. This new data centre will help services like iTunes Store, Siri, iMessage and Maps across Europe.

The second unit of data centre which is situated in Aabenraa, which is close to German border. But Apple still need approval to run internet services at the site in mid-2019. Apple is really thrilled to announce that company will open data centre in Denmark as they also mentioned in the statement.

“We’re thrilled to be expanding our data center operations in Denmark, and investing in new sources of clean power,” Erik Stannow, Nordic manager for Apple, told Reuters in an email.

“The planned facility in Aabenraa, like all of our data centers, will run on 100 percent renewable energy from day one, thanks to new clean energy sources we’re adding,”

The cost of new data centre is around billion dollars, Apple said its commitment to Denmark is partly due to the stability of the Danish power grid, which Apple will contribute to via green energy sources.

Apple already tried to open data centre in Europe in Ireland. Apple also received approval from Ireland Government in 2016, residents filed a High Court appeal to the plans. Construction on the project (first announced in 2015) has yet to start. The dispute is expected to be resolved soon.

Delaying of Irish Data Centre mean the next data centre to open will be the Viborg facility in Denmark. It has been called the ‘largest foreign investment’ in Denmark’s history. So Apple Denmark means lots Apple so lets see how Apple will invest further there.

3D Facial Recognition May Replace Fingerprint Sensor In Upcoming iPhone: Soon we may see 3D facial detection feature in upcoming iPhone which would replace the Touch ID fingerprint authentication. A new report from Bloomberg says that Apple is testing the 3D facial detection to unlocking the smartphone and another identification purpose. According to this report, the most advanced ProMotion display technology might feature in new iPhones. A report from Ming-Chi Kuo, the security analyst, also suggested the replacement of Touch ID fingerprint authentication by 3D facial detection feature in upcoming iPhone 8.

Alternative For Fingerprint Technolgy

Apple is working on 3D facial recognition technology with the focus on providing rapid recognition capabilities so that the smartphone will be able to unlock within few hundred milliseconds. With the speed, this technology will also be more secure than Touch ID fingerprint authentication feature. According to the report from Bloomberg, the Touch ID authentication feature could be replaced by 3D face detection feature to operate the smartphone in future.

“Apple is testing an improved security system that allows users to log in, authenticate payments, and launch secure apps by scanning their face, according to people familiar with the product. This is powered by a new 3-D sensor, added the people, who asked not to be identified discussing technology that’s still in development. The company is also testing eye scanning to augment the system, said by source”, Bloomberg reported that.

The Apple’s new 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros that was introduced last month this year have first featured with ProMotion display technology, the same that may introduce in new iPhone series. The ProMotion display gives the visual smoother, refreshes at very less power consumption and reduces motion blur. Apart from ProMotion display technology, Bloomberg’s report also claims that new iPhones may also have a new dedicated chip which is internally known as Apple Neural Engine, with the help of this new chip, Apple will run Promotion display and artificial intelligence tasks in iPhones.

However, the presence of Touch ID fingerprint scanner embedded into OLED display of upcoming iPhone 8 is being the most rumored feature in upcoming iPhone while some reports suggesting that Apple may place the Touch ID sensor at the rear side of the device as Apple is facing some issue to place it beneath the display of the smartphone. Now this new report suggesting that Apple is looking at another possible way to make its upcoming smartphone different from rest of the smartphones that are currently available. The iPhone 8 will launch in September this year with almost bezel-less display and many new features and is expecting to have “premium price tag”.

Qualcomm’s Fingerprint Scanner Into Display Will Not Available Soon

0

Qualcomm’s Fingerprint Scanner Into Display Will Not Available Soon: Qualcomm is currently working on to putting a Touch ID sensor into the display of the smartphone and Qualcomm is very close to achieving this but it will take the time to ship this technology in smartphones as some issues are there to resolve.

According to a report from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, Qualcomm may take the time to release the technology. It was hoped that this technology will debut in Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8, but now it seems that we still have to wait to see Touch ID embedded into the display of the smartphone. According to Mind-Chi Kuo, Qualcomm’s technology is not perfect but have some improvements with better scan-through, but it need still further improvement in speed and response times.

Kuo explains that problem faced by Qualcomm is the unavailability of thinner cover glass and flexible OLED panels that are not available in most of the smartphones, to embedded Touch ID into the display flexible OLED display and thin cover glass are desirable to work efficiently.

Kuo further said that consumers don’t have a problem with fingerprint sensors placed at the rear side of the device, thus the handset brands may be less compelled to adopt the ultrasonic solution as long as risks persist.

Where will be the Touch ID sensor located in upcoming iPhone 8 is the biggest question with no appropriate answer. Many leaks and rumors have suggested that the Touch ID will be placed beneath the display of the device while some leaks claimed that Apple may adopt rear fingerprint Touch ID sensor. We can conclude from the Kuo’s report that Qualcomm may not be able to provide embedded Touch ID sensor into the display soon, however, some reports also claim that Apple is likely working on its own in-house solution.

Expectations from Apple are very high in respect to the Touch ID embedded into the display in iPhone 8, however, what will we see regarding the Touch ID sensor is still not clear at this time.

Samsung Is Reportedly Building The World’s Largest Plant For Production Of OLED Panels

0

Apple is going to introduce OLED display in its upcoming iPhone 8 and it is the first time when Apple will use OLED display panel in its smartphone. The responsibility to supply the OLED display to the company is taken by Samsung, and it is reported that Samsung is the only one supplier of the OLED display at this time. Now a new report has come which suggests that Samsung is building the world’s largest OLED production plant to fulfill the demand of OLED display for the upcoming iPhone 8 in future, as it is believed that the demand for iPhone 8 will be increased after its release. The plant is located in Cheonin and Asan and the expecting cost of construction is $1.75 billion.

OLED Panel Production For Upcoming iPhone 8

The upcoming iPhone 8 will be the only device of Apple that will come with the OLED display this year but according to some reports it is supposed that Apple will switch to OLED displays for all the iPhone models by 2019, currently, iPhone models are available in IPS LCD screens.

According to ET News from Korea, Samsung has already started work on another plant with the $20B investment. It is a huge investment by Samsung and this pant will provide between 180,000 and 270,000 panels per month. The current plant builds 180,000 screens per month, which is massively increased by the new plant.

Apart from Samsung, other companies may also provide OLED display to the Apple, last month LG was also reportedly making an investment of around $3.5B for the OLED production for the smartphones. Sharp and Japan Display are also among the companies that are expecting to have an order of OLED display from the Apple.

It is expected that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8 will come with 5.8-inch edge-to-edge OLED display having fingerprint Touch ID sensor embedded into the display and glass chassis to support wireless charging. The iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus is also rumored to release in September 2017 along with the iPhone 8.

We have gone through many videos and leaked images depicting the possible design of Apple’s flagship iPhone 8 which is going to release in September this year, now a new video has come from  OnLeaks and Tiger Mobiles which is showing the more clear look of iPhone 8. It is claimed that the dummy unit seen in the video is built from a 3D CAD schematics, sourced directly from the factory in charge of building the new iPhone.

iPhone 8 Display Leaks

In this HD quality video, a dummy model of iPhone 8 is seen with edge-to-edge display without the Home button which is looking very impressive, a rear dual camera placed vertically, front facing camera and sensors are placed on the top bar, and a black glass chassis showed very clearly. In the video, there is no rear Touch ID fingerprint sensor is seen so if the upcoming iPhone 8 will look like this dummy model then we assume that the Touch ID fingerprint sensor will be embedded into the display of the device.

In the video, the Apple logo at the back of the device is gray in color. The video is also confirming the wireless charging in the device with an OLED display panel.

In the video, we can see the device is measured 71mm wide, 144mm long, and 7.5mm thick. The iPhone 7 has measurement 67.1mm wide, 138.3mm long, and 7.1mm thick while the iPhone 7 Plus comes with 77.9mm wide 158.2mm  long and 7.3mm thick. With this measurements, we can compare the upcoming iPhone 8 with iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 8 will have the 5.8-inch display but will almost have the same size to the iPhone 7 and display size will be similar to the iPhone 7 Plus.

However, the chances of having some changes in the actual model of the iPhone 8 are also very high. The smartphone will launch in September this year along with other two iPhone models that could be named as iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. Apple is going to introduce its upcoming iPhone 8 with many new features to make the device more worthy to buy.

In that event, Google has shown various improvements in Machine Learning and new cloud computing. Google also announced a new product like Google Lens which will make Android ecosystem more refined. Google has also put some initiative to make Android ecosystem better than ever, so the company has released their new updated Android O, in this, O is still undefined as Google might be like to hide mystery for a later announcement.

Google has unveiled their second developer version of Android O update in which they introduce various changes. New API and UI changes which introduced into it, we are going to discuss here.Google has divided their new update in two different stream one is called as Fluid Experiences and other is called Vitals. So let talk about Fluid Experiences.

Fluid Experiences

1. Picture-in-Picture

  • Picture-in-Picture is must requested feature from users last year, as much iOS users are using this feature in iPad. Now the Android users will also be able to use this feature and will take benefit of it. Picture-in-Picture works in any video app you just simply need to press home button and the video will pop out from the screen and video dialog box will be present at the side of the display, this feature also comes in handy while using video call as you can read other messages as well while doing video call and there are various example how Picture-in-Picture can be helpful.

Notification Dots appears over the app showing small dot same as App icon color so the developer does not have to change any code. While hard pressing open new shortcut window which will show some shortcut and notification same appear on the top.

2. Smart Text Selection

  • One of the most requested features in the Android was the smart text selection as user wanted this feature from year but finally Android made this thing possible as you can now copy text easily and if you want to copy address, the smart selection will mark whole address by simply pressing on the single point, this can be possible in variety of cases like phrases highlighting, name highlighting, and phone number. this feature was present in Android but it was just as basic text highlighting feature, now it will be present as the more updated feature.

3. Auto-Fill

  • While this feature is must have featured on every platform as it will reduce the time of writing names, password, username and various other. Google will remember your password, names, username and other things and fill the spaces require information. The Auto-Fill feature needs to be coded in by app developers, the user has to install the App in Android O so it will be remembered by Android another process is seamless. Google has also shown some example in the event by logging Twitter account without entering username or password, all your password and data will be protected by Google so you do not need to worry about it.

Vitals

So all this second segment include some improvements in performance of device and security o the device, as Google Android ecosystem has cross 2 Billion of user mark which is a really big achievement for Google but things are getting bigger and Google has to put some checks and more secure procedure for user safety and need to make things more transparent.

1. Optimizations

  • The Android team made Android boot up to twice the time for Pixel devices which is really good achievements. Google also bump up app response time so that user will not feel any jitter or lag while using and their experience will blazing fast. Google also made some changes in their Android Studio so the developer can see which things are hurting their response time and how fast their app is.
  • Android also made some limit for background app services, preventing the app from running in the background for too long, this will help Android device to juice up for longer time and user will receive more battery life, reducing recess consumption will also help to device run faster.
  • Android now also introduce Play Protect service which keeps checking on the app you download from the Google Play store if the app has any type of virus it will directly report to Google and App will be removed from Play Store. You can check app from the update windows into Play Store app.

Android also made some improvement in Android Run-Time which helps in faster response time.
  • New Notification handling as you can now snooze notification to appear later after 15min or 30min duration which is the really interesting thing.
  • By using Adaptive App icon, now the developer has to apply only one App icon and another icon can be made by Android O itself so, no more icon pack is required nor the icon shape, the user can select according to their choices from round to square shape. You will be able to change the icon on the lock screen of your device by simply pressing System UI Tuner and you can also choose the app which you want to see on the left side and which one on the right side of the lock screen.
